A Family Friendly Trail In Northern California With Curtain Of Water

For a truly short and family-friendly trail in Northern California that doesn’t skimp on scenery, you’ll want to put this trail on your travel plans. Everyone loves a good waterfall, right? Well, this one is definitely a stunning choice.

The stunning Burney Falls Loop Trail is a beacon out in McArthur-Burney Falls Memorial State Park, a beautiful area with a waterfall feature unlike any other.

Hiking over the fun bridges is always entertaining and easy enough for younger kids and wheels alike. Though it is busy during good weather, the loop-shaped trail means that (hopefully) everyone is going the same way.

Coming from a large underground reservoir, the water held within emerges as springs that feed Burney Falls all the water it needs to create art.

If you can believe it, an average of 100 million gallons flow down this 129-foot-tall curtain of water into the pool below. Nature is truly amazing once you think about everything it does. The park and falls have a lot of visitors from April through October, the prime hiking season in this area. Hiking this trail after 4 p.m. is recommended to make sure there is room in the parking lot for you when you arrive. The park is open from 8 a.m. to sunset, so you won’t miss out on anything if you need to plan for later in the day. Happy hiking!
