Winter magic doesn’t fade with the holidays in the Land of Lincoln. An upcoming festival that will take place in Argenta, Illinois will feature a wealth of glowing ice sculptures that will blow your mind.

Taking place February 9, 2018, the Argenta IceFest is a central Illinois winter celebration that is all about ice sculptures. Food, games, demonstrations, and displays will be available between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m.

This is the third year for this annual, small town fest. One of the main events this year will be the Ice Breaker Challenge, which is an endurance test that requires pulling, lifting, carrying, and running. Sign up in teams of two.

Most guests come to this festival to see live ice carving demonstrations. Sculptors will be showing off their skills at 1 p.m., 3 p.m., and 4:30 p.m.

There will also be several ice games to enjoy. Be sure to dress warm so that you can enjoy the ice slide, shuffle board, and corn hole.
