The parkway is popular year-round, but fall is undoubtedly the most popular season for a drive. The fall foliage is unparalleled. The winter can be a beautiful time to see some overlooks; however, sections of the road will close from time to time due to ice and dangerous conditions. When you plan a trip on the Blue Ridge Parkway, be sure to check The National Parks page for any road closures.
