When you want to soak and relax in hot springs around the state, there are dozens of options to consider. There are popular hot springs in Idaho, like Kirkham Hot Springs, Goldbug Hot Springs, and even Lava Hot Springs. But there is one that’s lesser-known and just as beautiful – Bonneville Hot Springs. Located near Lowman, these hot springs feature small waterfalls, mountain and forest views, and plenty of space for soaking. Basically, they are too beautiful for words.
Bonneville Hot Springs are located near Lowman and off State Highway 21. You can access them from the Bonneville Hot Springs Campground.

To reach the hot springs, there is a short 0.5-mile hike from the campground. The trek is easy and quite family-friendly, so even beginner hikers can enjoy a nice long soak.

The hot springs feature rock-wall pools with sandy bottoms that are perfect for relaxing and enjoying some time outdoors. Just be careful to check the temperature of the water before hopping in. It isn’t uncommon to find hot and cold spots around the pools.

When you arrive, you’ll notice small waterfalls that flow nearby, creating the perfect outdoor escape.

And once you find the perfect spot to sit back in the pool, take some time to admire the views surrounding you — this area is quite stunning.

At the hot springs, you’ll find a small shack. Inside, there is a bathtub that you can fill up with hot water if you desire. This gives you a little more privacy during your soak and you can more easily control the level of the water you want to relax in.

Late fall and winter are the best times to visit Bonneville Hot Springs. When the campground is open during the warmer months of the year, these hot springs can become quite busy with campers.

However, the journey will be worth it. These hot springs are beautiful all year long. They definitely deserve a spot on your bucket list.

As with all hot springs in Idaho, please pack out all trash you bring with you. There are many reports of littering in the area. Also, please be respectful of other soakers, especially when using the shack and bathtub.
