In Mississippi, beautiful sites don’t just include great scenery. Nope; the state is also home to some incredible pieces of architecture. And since this is the Bible Belt, that includes plenty of gorgeous churches. One of the most impressive is the Chapel of Memories. Rich in both history and beauty, the stunning chapel is an absolute work of art. Take a look:

Built in 1966, Chapel of Memories is situated in the middle of Mississippi State University’s campus.

Aside from its beauty, it’s the church’s history that makes it interesting. Chapel of Memories is built from bricks salvaged after the Old Main Dormitory burned down in 1959.

Described as “Gothic,” Chapel of Memories features ornate details, such as vibrant stained glass windows and arched entryways.

One of the most stunning aspects is the scattered sections of colored glass inserted into the doors of the chapel.

Illuminated by the sun, the intricately placed panes give off a lovely glow most times of the day.
