If you’re seeking some pure holiday magic this year, then head to Murrells Inlet to stroll through the enchanting Christmas lights at Brookgreen Gardens. Taking place on select nights towards the end of November through January 1, 2023, Nights of a Thousand Candles is simply stunning. It’s been called the “Best Christmas lights in South Carolina” by Travel+Leisure Magazine – but it’s quite possibly the best in the entire southeast, even.
Set among the formal sculpture gardens on a 1700s plantation, the annual exhibit attracts scores of locals and visitors alike each holiday season, who enjoy the most breathtaking experience.

Additionally, the venue also lights 2,800 candles every afternoon - by hand. Most of them are floating within the reflection pools of the many gardens. This really adds a special touch with a different type of light for creating a unique Christmas display.
