Camping on the Gasconade River October 30, 2022 Chris Muras Can you boat on the Gasconade River? The Gasconade River is a very popular fishing river so boating is definitely allowed. Floating down the Gasconade River is also popular on tubes, rafts, canoes, or kayaks. Around Waynesville, Missouri there is a 15-mile section with lots of twists and turns that makes for a great float area. While the river route is 15 miles, by land it is only two miles so it makes it easy to drop off a car at one end and start your floating adventure upstream. What kind of fish are in the Gasconade River? You may not know it but there is an art and science to stocking rivers and lakes with fish. When you add populations of bluegill, channel catfish, and largemouth bass in that particular order you are preserving the natural balance of both food and sport-fishing. But that’s only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the fish population in the Gasconade River. There are over 60 different species of fish in the river. The gem of them all is considered the smallmouth bass as anglers come from all around to fish this engaging and delicious fish. Where are the best riverfront cabins in Missouri? If you are looking for a large family getaway (perfect for family reunions) or a bachelor/bachelorette weekend we have an amazing rental for you! This renovated 1900s barn sits on 140 acres in the Gasconade River Valley. The Lodge at Crider Creek is a beautiful 3,500 sq. ft 3-story barn with six bedrooms that sleeps up to 22 people or pets. (pets are welcome but probably not in the beds). Right on “your own” property, you can enjoy hiking, fishing, and plenty of wildlife right on your door front. Fire up a roaring fire in the fire pit and enjoy a big bright Missouri star-filled sky.
