Plitvice Lakes National Park is the largest national park in Croatia, and, in addition to multiple terraced lakes, features a stunning series of limestone-backed waterfalls. It’s a stunning nature scene, one worthy of a place on a list of the world’s most beautiful waterfalls. And, no surprise to those of us enamored by West Virginia’s beauty, there’s actually a Plitvice look-a-like (in miniature, of course!) right here in West Virginia.
Of course, the size of the West Virginia look-a-like is nothing like the scope of the massive chain of lakes and falls in Croatia.

Falling Waters is also uniquely historic: several Civil War battles were fought here, and Robert E. Lee’s army crossed here when they were retreating from Gettysburg.
