Although she may be small, Rhode Island hides a whole lot of gems within her borders. Some we come across unexpectedly. Others we seek out. Hiking makes it simple to run across little-known gems while getting fresh air and reconnecting with nature. This trail in Rhode Island, for example, leads to a World War II Memorial and a few other surprises. Even if you’ve hiked it before, you’re likely to discover something new each time you set off.
Prepare for a moderate challenge when you set off on the 4.4-mile World War II Memorial Loop Trail, which winds through Wolf Hill Forest Preserve in Smithfield.
