Tucked away from all the noise of larger cities, Valentine Lake is an ideal spot to spend a day or two enjoying the views and recharging your inner batteries.

Carl Sonnier/All Trails The trail is just shy of two miles and fairly easy as far as Louisiana hiking trails are concerned. Just remember that these primitive trails are at the mercy of Mother Nature, so if you visit after a storm, you may be trekking through some mud or climbing over tree limbs.
For an entirely new perspective, bring your kayak or canoe and paddle around the lake.
