The Great Northern Train is an awesome bed and breakfast train, but you don’t have to commit to an overnight experience to take part. In the winter, you’ll want to check out the Dinner Train, which features a leisurely ride and a multi-course meal.

The train travels at a very leisurely pace and you are able to get up and move around the train as it glides through farm fields, deep woods and along the scenic Namekagon River. Halogen lighting under the car illuminates the countryside after dark during early and late season runs.

You’ll love the views of the surrounding forest and river valley. Keep your eyes peeled for wildlife and get lulled by the gorgeous passing scenery and the sway of the train.

Around 9 pm the train returns to the station and parks for the night. The train is open all night so you don’t have to hurry off - indulge in another drink or stay and chat with new friends. This whole experience is about slowing down and taking it all in.
