- World’s Largest Zipper
Only In Your State/Kristin Grimes Barre is known as the granite capital of the world, and the largest zipper is built out of large blocks of granite right from the town. At 74 feet long, it is located in an alley right on Main Street. The artist named it “Unzipping the Earth,” which is appropriate since annual plants bloom within the blocks during warmer weather. You may have driven by this a thousand times and never knew to look! It’s one of the most unique things to see in Vermont. 203 N Main St, Barre, VT 05641, USA
- The World’s Tallest Ladder Back Chair
jeremy jeandervin/Google This world record-breaker 19-foot chair has a history of bouncing back. The original was created in 1969 but over the years, it was affected by the elements and taken down in 2000. A new store, LaFlammes, purchased the land and made a replica. You’ll want to read the history behind it here. (Unfortunately, LaFlammes is no longer in business.) 239 Main St, Bennington, VT 05201, USA
