The Greenbrier River Trail is built on an old railroad bed and is a hiking, biking, and horseback riding trail that runs from Caldwell to Cass along the Greenbrier River.

It’s either that or chase down a bear and see if he wants to share his honey sandwich. If you are looking for hiking trails with restaurants in WV these might just fit the bill:

Smokehouse at Blackwater Falls, Davis, WV: Blackwater Falls State Park has some amazing hiking trails and just as epic waterfalls. It’s a good thing someone was using their noggin when they created The Smokehouse because nothing is better than a good meal after a scenic hiking workout. Gateway Family Restaurant, Riverton, WV: The highest ridge of the Allegheny Mountains can be found at Spruce Knob - quite similar to the mountainous deliciousness you’ll find on a slice of banana cream pie at the Gateway Family Restaurant. Its toasty ridges are so light and fluffy with a smooth banana finish to each scrumptious bite… Lakehouse Restaurant, Morgantown, WV: Cheat Lake offers some of the most scenic lake views while hiking the Cheat Lake Trail. So it is perfectly okay to “cheat” a little more after your hike by stopping by the Lakehouse Restaurant to watch the sunset with your hiking buds on the outdoor patio as you sink your teeth into some delicious food. Laury’s Restaurant, Charleston, WV: After spending a day hiking in the Wayne National Forest, jump in a mountain stream to rinse off then throw on your tux and tails or LBD for an evening of fine dining at Laury’s Restaurant. (We heard maple sap makes a good [but rather sticky] deodorant) This cool restaurant is in an old train depot building that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
