There is something extra relaxing about soaking in a hot spring while surrounded by nature. The Moondipper Hot Spring and Pine Burl Hot Spring Trail near Cascade will not only take you to one hot spring where you can soak away life’s worries, but it will take you to multiple hot springs. Even better, the trail isn’t that difficult and is less than five miles long. Doesn’t that sound like the perfect adventure?
This hot spring trail takes you through the Boise National Forest near Cascade. You will find the trailhead near the Boiling Springs Campground.

This is an out-and-back trail that is approximately 4.7 miles. Although, if you don’t want to travel that far, the first hot spring is just a short trek from the trailhead.

This trail is rated as moderately challenging as you will have some steep inclines to tackle. Be careful of this trail in the middle of winter as these inclines can become icy and slick. This trail is best to explore between April and November.

As you hike, you will first come to Boiling Springs. This hot spring is a nice soaking temperature but it can become quite busy. If you want to get away from some of the crowd, we recommend you continue on your way.

A majority of this trail takes you right through the forest and provides plenty of shade. It also follows the river, giving you some pretty incredible views.
