Have you ever run across something that’s just out of place? You open a door, but it leads to a…wall? Or you see a staircase that doesn’t appear to go anywhere? Such a sight might set your imagination on fire or just cause you to shrug your shoulders. Either way, you’ll run into a boardwalk to nowhere on this trail in Rhode Island.
You really don’t need a ton of time to complete the picturesque Pawtuxet River Trail, an easy path that clocks in at just 2.3 miles. Most hikers say it takes around 45 minutes.

Before you set off, you should be aware of a few things. The path can get quite muddy after a rainfall. It can get quite buggy during the warmer months, so bug spray is a must.
