One of the most beautiful historic homes to visit in Arizona is the Wrigley Mansion, a stately Phoenix landmark that is as timeless as it is elegant. To tour this sprawling manor is to step back to turn-of-the-century Phoenix and see how the upper class lived during that era. The mansion also houses two incredible restaurants, and the views are almost as good as the food.

Situated on a hilltop overlooking Camelback Mountain, the Italianate mansion was constructed by William Wrigley Jr. (yes, the chewing gum tycoon!) in 1932 as a 50th anniversary gift to his wife.

After the Wrigley family sold the home in 1973, it changed ownership several times, and was almost demolished by the city in the early 1990s to make room for a housing development.

Luckily, the mansion was spared by Geordie and Jamie Hormel. The couple bought, restored, and opened it to the public to share its timeless charm with the world.

Now a fine dining and event venue, the Wrigley Mansion also offers both guided and self-guided tours that take you back in time to early 20th-century Phoenix.

As soon as you step inside, you can’t help but marvel at the architectural splendor. From the geometric precision of the rotunda to the winding spiral staircase, everything is absolutely perfect. It’s truly amazing to see!

Despite having undergone renovations, the mansion is not modernized. Its character and originality have been carefully preserved, right down to the tiles on the roof that were shipped from the Wrigley family’s tile factory on Catalina Island.

Moving through the house, you’ll see how some of the rooms have been transformed to fit the Hormels’ vision. The library, for example, is now a swanky wine bar perfect for slinking away to after dinner. You can even enjoy a meal in the former Wrigley living room!
