As wonderful as the Christmas season is, what makes it even better is seeing the excitement of children and the twinkle in their eyes during different moments throughout the season. It’s a sweet reminder of that time in our own lives as adults when we were children and life was simpler, when we looked forward to Christmas morning, and we could really enjoy the season without the stress! The Bon Secours Festival of Trees is this type of experience and one of the best Christmas events in South Carolina.
Lining the entranceway of three hotels in downtown Greenville are over 70 Christmas trees sponsored by companies, schools, and other organizations across the Upstate.

Others have a more serious or meaningful type of theme, like this one. But you will be delighted at each one you come to as you make your way through the display.

Learning how different cultures around the world celebrate the holidays is interesting. What a boring existence we would have if we all did things exactly the same way!

How many elves can you count helping out with this tree? Such nice little helpers!

How cool is this that we can incorporate technology to enjoy some music along with this tree?

And if you need to really brighten your day, spend a few minutes at this tree reading all the sweet affirmations, thoughts we all need reminders of and to hear from time to time. This one will really make you smile.

These particular trees are located in the entranceway for the Hyatt Regency Hotel on North Main Street in Greenville as a part of the 2022 37th Annual Festival of Trees event, but there are more to enjoy also at the Courtyard Marriott Downtown and the Embassy Suites by Hilton – Riverplace. It’s such an enchanting experience that an Upstate couple even got engaged at the event in 2021!

Throughout the years, the trees’ sponsorships have raised $2 million, directly benefitting Bon Secours programs and departments, and it’s a USA Today Top Ten Best Things to Do in December in Greenville. The event runs through December 26. For another fun Christmas event in Greenville, check out the Gingerbread Exhibit!
