Crystal Mountain. Easily one of the coolest resorts in Michigan, Crystal Mountain is an all-inclusive experience that’s absolutely magical. This four-season vacation destination draws in visitors of all ages with its abundance of events, recreational activities, and more – but it truly shines during the winter. In addition to amazing ski slopes and a chair lift, Crystal Mountain features 12 miles of biking trails which can be explored via fat tire bikes. Most trails are open for riding during daylight hours, though one remains open at night. As you make your way along each path, you’ll experience all sorts of forested winter splendor – Crystal Mountain this time of year is a real-life winter wonderland!

Frankenmuth is positively perfect all year-round, but dazzles beneath a blanket of snow. With a bustling population of around 5,000, Frankenmuth’s downtown area is abundant in Bavarian architecture and other homages to this unique heritage. Stop in at Zehnder’s Restaurant or the Bavarian Inn to enjoy a famous chicken dinner served by a waiter or waitress in traditional Bavarian garb. Just down the street, you’ll find Frankenmuth Brewery — the oldest of its kind in Michigan. With a dachshund logo and a delightful selection of beers to enjoy, this brewery will quickly become one of your favorites – as will this entire little town!

Traverse City. This beloved city frequently tops “must-visit” lists here in the Great Lakes State, and with good reason!
