There’s a certain allure that many bridges around the state hold. Whether it’s a modern bridge like the Zakim Bridge, a historic covered bridge, or even a bridge that’s filled with flowers come springtime, there’s quite a variety of these structures around the Bay State. There’s also an area where you can take a bridge hike in Massachusetts. Known as the Keystone Arch Bridges, this is one hike you will want to take at some point in your life.

Keystone Arch Bridges are a pair of historic stone bridges found within Mass Wildlife’s Walnut Hill Wildlife Management Area in Middlefield, Massachusetts.

The stone bridges were originally built in 1841 as part of the country’s first railway to pass through a mountain.

You can take a one-of-a-kind hike through along the Keystone Arch Bridges Trail. This five-mile, out-and-back trail is rated as moderate and offers plenty of scenery along the way.
