In 2023, something big is coming to one beloved Smoky Mountain attraction. Allow us to introduce you to Big Bear Mountain, a new rollercoaster in Dollywood that’s going to be the biggest and best yet!

If you went at all last year you may have noticed a big bright orange track tucked away in the background.
Dollywood/ Facebook The track was the preparation work for one of the biggest additions to the park to date, and it all starts in Wildwood Grove. This magical section of the park is perfect for kids with plenty to see and do. Hidden Hollow is an area that is especially fun for little kids to get out their energy by climbing and playing.
Wildwood Grove is a beautiful space in the park with a tranquil stream and a massive light-up tree filled with butterflies that excite guests. Just look at that classic Smoky Mountain sunset painting the sky around The Wildwood Tree! Pretty soon, however, something else will grab the attention of visitors.

Dollywood This rollercoaster is going to have a 3,990-foot track and give riders a nearly two-minute long ride. Big Bear Mountain will take you on a wild adventure in an SUV-themed cart on a wilderness excursion to find Big Bear himself.
The track is so huge it will traverse through most of the park. Along the way, you will dip into caves, get stunning views of the Smokies, and twist and turn for a wild ride. There are speakers in the carts and the ride will be narrated by Ned Oakley, who is a leading wilderness adventurer and a fitting guide as you journey through the mountains.

This rollercoaster is meant to be a family-friendly attraction, but you must be at least 39 inches tall to ride. The coaster will top out at 48 mph, and you will not be going upside down at all. The coaster will feature some thrilling drops and turns and is sure to be an exciting addition to an already amazing theme park.
