The Kansas City Chiefs are based in Missouri, so you’d be forgiven for expecting most of their fan base to be centralized in the Show-Me State. Surprisingly enough, the world’s largest collection of Kansas City Chiefs memorabilia is here in Kansas. This privately-owned “Chiefseum” was officially designated as the biggest on the planet by the Guinness Book of World Records in 2022. Curt Herrman, a resident of Manhattan, Kansas, owns more than 1,300 Kansas City Chief-related items dating back decades. His massive collection is a must-see for football fans in Kansas.
Since Kansas doesn’t have an NFL team, many professional football fans are left cheering for the Kansas City Chiefs, even though they technically belong to our neighbors in Missouri. As two-time Super Bowl champions, they’re not a bad team to root for!

One man who definitely roots for the Chiefs is Curt Hermann, who transformed his Manhattan basement into a “Chiefseum” filled with a massive array of memorabilia.

Hermann started his collection when he was just eight years old. He’s got all kinds of pieces, including game-worn jerseys, original newspaper articles, programs, and signed helmets.

The collection even includes items dating back to the team’s stint in Texas, when they were known as the Dallas Texans (1960-1962).

The Guinness Book of World Records made the category, especially for Hermann. He’s certainly the undisputed record holder, with over 1,300 items (and counting!) in his collection.

Everything in the collection is meticulously documented, and he has no duplicates.

He definitely deserves “fan of the year” award! For more information about the largest collection of Kansas City Chiefs memorabilia in Kansas, check out the Chiefseum Facebook page or official website.
