The haunted path will take you to Vaile Mansion, Bingham-Waggoner Estate, and 1859 Jail. Each offers tours, so you can perhaps even experience the paranormal for yourself.

Vaile Mansion is open seasonally for tours, generally starting at the beginning of April, and offers a unique glimpse at the one-time home, built in 1881, of the Vaile family. Keep an eye out when you first arrive at the house. Do you notice the figure of a woman peering out of the window?

That figure is believed to be Mrs. Vaile who, after a personal struggle, committed suicide in the home. She, however, is not the only spirit who is said to linger in this historic home. Visitors tell of an array of strange occurrences – hearing voices and footsteps when no one is there and lights that turn on and off on their own.

Plan a visit, too, to Bingham-Waggoner Estate, a historic estate that dates back to the 19th century. However, it’s perhaps best known, at least by ghost hunters, as a spot that’s teeming with the paranormal, including the apparition of a bride.

No one knows who she is, for sure, but the bride is believed to have fallen down the home’s staircase shortly after her nuptials. While numerous visitors have told of seeing her, others tell of hearing a man yell and cough.

You’d probably expect a place like a jail to be rife with the paranormal, and that’s the case with the 1859 Jail Museum, former home to such notorious inmates as Frank James (the brother of Jesse James).

Visitors tell of seeing former guard, Henry Bugler, restlessly wandering through the jail museum. He had been brutally murdered by inmates. Others have heard men talking when no one is there, and still others have felt chills.
