Joseph and Matilda Novak immigrated to the United States from Hungary in 1957. In 1984, they opened their restaurant with their twin daughters, Karen and Matilda. It’s been an Albany institution ever since.

Today, the two sisters run the restaurant and they take great pride in everything they do. The dining room is warm, welcoming and comfortable. They source most of the restaurant’s ingredients from local farmers. All the food is fantastic. Everything at Novak’s is perfect.

The desserts are to die for. Whether you order them a la carte or sample them on the buffet, you’ll be blown away by the spectacular flavors. This Hungarian apple pie just melts in your mouth.
