It’s good to be a kid in the Beaver State. From epic outdoor playscapes and kid-friendly hikes to next-level climbing gyms and charming children’s bookstores, there’s no shortage of fun for Oregon’s smallest residents. While we generally like to tout the great outdoors, PNW weather doesn’t always cooperate, so it’s always good to have some rainy day contingencies. And this massive, three-story indoor playground in Portland, Oregon, never disappoints.

Does this remind you of your playroom at home? Kids literally climbing the walls, hanging from light fixtures…

…and a mess of toys (and toddlers) every which way and direction?

Indoor Playground in Oregon January 12, 2023 Sarah M. What are some other kid-friendly places to visit in Oregon? In addition to the epic indoor playground in Portland, here are some other kid-friendly places to visit in Oregon:

Compass Park. In the heart of a residential community in Bend, Compass Park is easily the most unique playground in Oregon. This five-acre, circular-shaped park in Bend features an epic play area, a covered pavilion, and bike paths. It’s such a fun and uniquely Oregon place to let your kids run wild! Brimstone Boulders. Located inside a former church, Brimstone Boulders is a sanctuary for avid climbers, and it’s wholly, incredibly, mind-blowingly awesome. This climbing gym is in a league of its own, and truly unlike any place you’ve ever climbed. Brimstone Boulders opened the doors of its climbing gym in downtown Hood River, Oregon, in 2020. In the midst of this region of epic outdoor recreation, it’s impossible not to be inspired here. The gym offers a variety of classes, summer camps, teams, and special events geared towards climbers of all ages and abilities. It’s the place to go for a crash course in Climbing 101! Wings and Waves Waterpark. Level up your indoor playground experience in Oregon with a visit to this massive indoor water park! One of Oregon’s coolest aqua parks, a day at Wings and Waves will totally make you feel like a kid again – in the best way possible. Inside this massive indoor waterpark (Oregon’s largest, by the way), pools, slides, rides, and fun beckon. The park boasts 10 waterslides totaling more than 2,000 feet, with four slides coming from the retired Evergreen International Airlines Boeing 747 aircraft that’s on the roof! Bullwinkle’s Wilsonville. Looking for some old-school family fun? One of our favorite destinations for a summer day trip in Oregon is Bullwinkle’s Wilsonville, an all-inclusive destination that’s part amusement park, part adventure park, and 100% pure, unadulterated fun. Bullwinkle’s is an incredible destination offering mini-golf, laser tag, bumper boats, go-karting, zip-lining, a bowling alley, arcade games… pretty much everything needed for a day of fun in the Beaver State.
