Butterflies are such interesting animals. Their transformation through all their life stages seems so intriguing and almost metaphorical in its mystery. One place in Connecticut where you can see butterflies up close and personal is at the Connecticut Science Center in Hartford. This is truly one of the state’s underrated gems: there are many attractions at the museum. The butterfly house is actually one of the largest in the country, housing dozens of specimens.
The Connecticut Science Center spans nine floors and 154,000 square feet. There is a lot to see here, with plenty of interactive exhibits, but you definitely will want to make time to stop by the Butterfly Encounter.
