Winter in Maine was made for people who enjoy the outdoors! With so many ways to enjoy the season, we sometimes wonder why summer is so popular. While quite a few people make their way north for skiing, there are some even better options for enjoying the colder temperatures. One of those options is outdoor ice skating and no one offers more space than the Sugarloaf Outdoor Center! The largest ice skating rink in Maine is waiting for you to enjoy.
The Sugarloaf Outdoor Center in Carrabassett Valley is a popular attraction during the summer. When the weather is warm, they offer tons of different ways to enjoy the area without snow. But, it’s just as fun in the winter when you want to enjoy something other than downhill skiing.

Haven’t skated before, but love the idea of trying it out this season? The Outdoor Center offers skate rentals, so you don’t need to bring your own. And, if you have skates that you love to use, they can handle sharpening to make sure they’re in tip-top shape. Be sure to pop inside and ask them for more details on both services.
Janalyn Pappel / Google Weather permitting, the rink offers pick-up hockey for those who enjoy some friendly competition. And, to enjoy fun with everyone you love, make sure to show up for family nights.
The Sugarloaf Outdoor Center Ice Skating Rink is open Sunday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. The rink is typically open for skating in mid-December and remains open through most of March.
