Also known as the Carey Mansion, the 40,000-square-foot mansion was built in 1907 and is the largest privately-owned Gilded Age “summer cottage.”

The mansion’s turreted profile became the icon for ‘Dark Shadows,’ the cult classic TV show which ran from 1966-1971. The show chronicled the Collins family of Collinsport, Maine. A number of supernatural events took place in the house on the show.
