High Rock Lookout sits at the highest and loftiest point of the Sawtooth Ridge of Gifford Pinchot National Forest, and is loved by hikers for many reasons. While the trail to the summit is considered moderately challenging, it’s short approach makes it suitable for less experienced hikers and seasoned adventurers alike. Visitors can also bring their dogs on this journey, as long as they are kept on a leash. Offering absolutely breathtaking views of Mount Rainer, the journey to this lookout spot is definitely worth the effort.

The original structure at the top of the summit was constructed in 1929. For many years, it was used as an active lookout.
