Fried catfish is a pretty big deal here in the Magnolia State, so it’s not too surprising that the state hosts the World Catfish Festival. Held every spring, the annual celebration features a catfish eating contest, the crowning of the Catfish Queen, the world’s largest fish fry, and more. During the festival, more than 150 arts and crafts vendors fill several streets in downtown Belzoni. There are also free kids activities and a 5K run/walk.

Live musical entertainment is a big part of the event, too. Throughout the day, attendees will hear a variety of musician, performing blues, country, gospel, and more.
