Artressia Davis originally owned the cave, although it’s said she was scammed into selling it to two men. She would battle with them from 1886 until her death in 1943, hoping the court would step in and help.

Legend says that she was so upset about her loss of the cave that she would spend countless hours there, shooing away anyone would dared visit. Her restless spirit may still lurk there today.

Another spirit who is believed to still roam the cave is that of a young woman. She drowned when her boat tipped over during a tour in 1915.
