Have you ever shot a rabbit from a motorboat? How about wore a bee in your hat? Driven through a parade? If you answered no and think we’re crazy for asking, you’re not alone. If you answered yes, you are a lawbreaker. Don’t believe us? Check out these weird laws in Kansas that will leave you with way more questions than answers.
What do you think of these laws? Which weird laws in Kansas have you broken, and how long will you be on the run for?

Don’t worry about being considerate of your neighbors, what about their horses? Will someone please think of the horses?

This shouldn’t have to be a law; it’s a common courtesy!

Again, common sense/courtesy… just saying.

But if you were able to do it, we’d be impressed!

Again, why are we looking down on this? That’s amazing! But in reality, hand fishing, for flathead catfish only, is legal from sunrise to sunset June 15 through August 31 each year in certain parts of the state.

We guess the conductors have to play “Rock, Paper, Scissors” to figure out who goes first then?

We’ll give you three guesses as to why this law was put into place. cough Westboro Baptist Church cough.

Great… we guess this means our “La Cucaracha” horns will just go to waste!

This is one of those common sense things. We know it makes your car warmer in the winter, but it also increases your chances of having your car stolen. The more you know!

“I’m a Little Teapot”, however, is not only legal, but encouraged.

Why? And we don’t mean, “why can’t I put a bee in my favorite hat”, we mean WHY IS THIS EVEN AN ISSUE?

Throwing furniture at it, however, is completely understood.

It may be time to invest in a car.

Weird Laws in Kansas February 16, 2022 Tori Jane What are some fun facts about Kansas? Kansas is a little more interesting than most folks tend to give it credit for. It’s known for things like its wheat fields that never seem to end, tornadoes, and sunflowers, but there is so much more to our little state than just those (albeit totally valid) stereotypes. For example, did you know that 88 percent of available land in the state of Kansas is farmland? Okay – that one might not be that much of a stereotype buster, but it is interesting. For those with an explorer’s heart, there are 528 known caves in Kansas, and this number increases every so often as more are discovered. Kansas is the home state of the helicopter; this modern flying machine was dreamed up and designed here first. Oh, and did you know that Kansas is the prairie chicken capital of not just the United States but the entire North American continent? Yep – if you’re a fan of prairie chickens for whatever reason, just come out to Kansas. You’ll find plenty out here! What are some strange things about Kansas? If those are fun facts, then what are some more offbeat, weird facts about Kansas? Well, did you know that the first-ever White Castle hamburger restaurant was in Wichita, and now there isn’t even one location of White Castle in the whole state? Yep, we’re the original home of White Castle, but we get no respect. We’ve also got a bunch of state critters like anywhere else, and our state reptile (that’s a thing that exists) is the adorable little ornate box turtle – which we think is actually pretty awesome. It could have been a creature a lot less cute, like a snapping turtle. Finally, once upon a time in 2003, some geographers were sick of hearing how Kansas was “flat as a pancake”, so they created some models and compared them to pancakes to see if it was really true. Turned out, yeah… Kansas was at LEAST flat as a pancake. In fact… it appears to be flatter. Have a love of all things offbeat? You’ll want to check these awesome, offbeat roadside attractions in Kansas out!
