Whether it’s previously vibrant cities falling behind the times with dying industries or natural disasters plummeting buildings in their path, West Virginia has no shortage of ghost towns and abandoned buildings. One of the creepiest places is on this abandoned property in Exchange, West Virginia, which most people don’t even know exists.
Once a bustling railroad town over a hundred years ago, Exchange was originally a stopping point on the former Coal and Coke Railway.

Currently, it is considered an unincorporated community and ghost town. The outskirts of Exchange are still populated, but the main street through town is blocked off, and the buildings appear to be vacated.
Braxton County, West Virginia Now, only the sound of whispering ghosts as it stands deserted and faded. The once busy railway which ran through the area is now gone, leaving behind an abandoned railway town with its ghostly old stores, station house, and dwellings.
There is no history about this property, but it sits desolate along a railroad and a two-way road. If these walls could talk, what would they say?

There’s no shortage of fascinating things to see. Peek through and catch sight of old chairs stacked up and mannequins tossed about the room. What type of life did these dwellers lead? We may never know.

Remember to consider; though buildings and land may seem deserted and neglected, they may still have owners, and property may be private. We don’t advise walking far from the main roads or parking. Would you even want to? Spooky.
