Joel Patrick Anderson/Youtube If you head down Douglas Street in Spencer, Oklahoma, until it ends and turns into Wilshire Boulevard, you’ll encounter a road that looks a bit abandoned. The Purple Church is located just off Wilshire Boulevard. It is on private property, so if you want to visit this location, you will need to get permission first.

Once you see the sign for True Grit Sand and Mining, you will want to park alongside the road and walk the rest of the way.

Be aware that land owners patrol the road and area, and scare off potential visitors to the haunted Purple Church.

After walking east on Wilshire Boulevard, you’ll see a green gate over to the side that will lead you to the Purple Church.

So what makes this place so evil?

Joel Patrick Anderson/Youtube The Purple Church is the site of a former church that was torn down and all that remains is the concrete slab and basement. It is called the Purple Church because of all the Satanic purple pentagrams and symbols that are spray painted all over it.

If you research The Purple Church, you’ll find story after story about Satanic rituals and sacrifices taking place at this location.

flasseye view/Flickr According to reports, the church has been the location of many Satanic rituals. Visitors report being touched and scratched, strange noises have been heard, and many more paranormal events have reportedly taken place.

Lots and lots of dead animal carcasses have been photographed here, which supports the claim that animal sacrifices often occur at The Purple Church.

Back in the woods, you’ll see the concrete foundation with steps leading down into the “cellar.”

Professor Caleb Lack/Youtube Those who have braved the walk down those steps have reported an ominous feeling that is so heavy that they had to immediately leave.

Many sources claim that Sean Sellers, a 16 year-old Satanist convicted of killing his parents and a store clerk, was the first to use the property for Satanic rituals.

The smell of death (literally) is on the property.

Professor Caleb Lack/Youtube People have reported being chased off by men in robes, or by land owners with guns. It’s not only the dead you have to worry about on the land, but the living who will chase trespassers off. Do not enter this evil place without permission.

Evil Place in Oklahoma December 07, 2021 Tori Jane Is there a haunted church in Oklahoma?   It’s funny you should ask, because yes – yes there is. You’ve just read the legend of the creepy Purple Church in Oklahoma, a little old place in Spencer that’s said to be the very gate to hell itself. All that’s left of it nowadays is the concrete slab foundation and the old basement – which is where all the evil goings-on are thought to have happened. Well, then there’s also the legend of a church in Konowa that’s experienced all sorts of paranormal goings-on, especially around Halloween, when local interest in the building seems to peak. It’s said that the spirits of many people lurk in its halls and in its pews, though, of course, those are only legends… or are they? Perhaps you’ll have to visit the church and find out… if you dare.   What are some notoriously haunted places in Oklahoma?  There are plenty of supposedly haunted places in Oklahoma, including:

St. Vincent’s Mental Asylum Camp Scott Dead Woman’s Crossing Sacred Heart Mission

Sweet, spooky home Oklahoma! There are so many places in the Sooner State that are thought to be haunted or otherwise paranormal that it’s pretty much impossible to list them all in a short paragraph; Oklahoma is a wonderful state for ghost hunters, we’ll put it that way. It seems like every single town has at least one or two places that are incredibly creepy and rumored to be haunted; in Guthrie, for example, there’s the old Masonic Boys’ Home, and the beautiful-but-spooky Stone Lion Inn, both of which are thought to be haunted by the wayward spirits of deceased children. In Oklahoma City, you’ll find haunts like the famous Skirvin Hotel, where people have heard crying babies when there are no babies in the area, seen objects moving by themselves and lights turning on and off on their own, encountered bizarre apparitions, and more. Should you ever find yourself ghost hunting in Tulsa, check out the old Gilcrease Museum as well as Cain’s Ballroom – you ought not to be disappointed. Craving more haunted Oklahoma?
