U.S. Highway 23 runs all the way from Mackinaw City, Michigan to Jacksonville, Florida. Hugging the shoreline of Lake Huron for many miles, a stretch of this road is known as the Sunrise Side Coastal Highway, and it’s one of the most scenic drives in Michigan.

Today we’re going to explore the section from Au Gres up to Mackinaw City.

One of the first major stops along the way is Tawas Point State Park.
