This scenic state park near Avon has a 1.5-mile White Trail that’s not too difficult, making it perfect for kids and hikers of all experience levels.

At “only” 105 acres, Horse Guard State Park is one of the smaller state parks in Connecticut. Despite being purchased by the state in 1964, it remains largely undeveloped.
