Here’s a fun Wisconsin road trip along the Lake Michigan coast.
First things first: stop at O & H Danish Bakery for some Kringle. This classic establishment has several Racine area locations, including a couple spots that are right off of Highway 94. They have a ton of great Kringle flavors, including almond, turtle, cream cheesecake, and cinnamon roll.

As you head north on Interstate 94 with Kringle in hand, you’ll find yourself in the state’s largest city. There’s a ton to see and experience in Milwaukee, but if you have just a little time, take a swing along the shoreline to see iconic sights like the Milwaukee Art Museum, Veteran’s Park, and Bradford Beach.

While you could spend all day in Milwaukee, we only have so much time and so much Kringle. Port Washington is a beautiful waterfront town that’s worth exploring in it’s own right. It’s home to beautiful lighthouses and a charming downtown.

Continuing north, you’ll encounter a city that has some savory treats to go with your Kringle. Sheboygan is famous for its brats and there are plenty to be had in the city’s delicious restaurants.

This is also cheese country and you’ll find some nice cheese shops and factories on the east side of Wisconsin. Look for them in places like Belgium and Sheboygan Falls.

North of Sheboygan, you can skirt the lakefront on Highway 42 through Manitowoc and Two Rivers. The communities offer some breathtaking views of Lake Michigan and there’s a walking path right along the shore. You may want to get out of the car and work off some of that Kringle!
