The website World Atlas issued its annual report of the 10 safest cities in the U.S., and it should be no surprise at all that the Maple State not only landed a spot on the list; it garnered a place near the top! Here’s more on why our beloved Vermont is one of the safest states in the U.S.

Vermont is ranked as the second safest state in the entire nation!

Natural disasters in Vermont are rare, and typically seen in snow falls like nor’easters and general winter weather. In addition, Vermont has a very low rate of physical assaults, a low rate of unemployment (just 3.6%) and a low number of residents without health insurance. In short…Vermont is basically an awesome place to live!
