Pinecraft, Florida is a small community which has become the winter vacation destination for people of the Amish and Mennonite faith across the county.

As the story goes, in the 1920s the Amish and Mennonite farmers were persuaded to come to Sarasota in order to use the land for agricultural purposes — primarily to grow celery which was a common Amish crop.
