We all know that Massachusetts is a state that’s full of historical sites no matter what city or town you find yourself in. And there are certain places that take on an almost hauntingly beautiful look during certain times of the year. One historic mansion in Massachusetts is quite a place to visit year-round but it is absolutely exquisite in the fall. Welcome to The Mount in Lenox, the mansion where a famous author once resided.

A National Historic Landmark, The Mount was once the home of author Edith Wharton. It was here that she wrote two of her most famous works, The House of Mirth and Ethan Frome.
