There are a plethora of teeny tiny towns here in Idaho. Like, super tiny. In fact, Idaho might be home to one of the smallest towns in the entire country. The town featured here has a population of a whopping three people. Yes … three. This makes it by far the tiniest town in the Gem State. However, this tiny town isn’t all that unknown. Located in eastern Idaho, Warm River is a wildly popular spot to visit because of the area’s immense natural beauty. The fact that so few people live here only adds to the magic of this incredible town!

Warm River is, in fact, a town … despite having only three permanent residents according to the last U.S. Census. It’s located on the very eastern edge of Idaho, just shy of the Wyoming border and about nine miles northeast of Ashton.

It may be the least populous town in Idaho, but the beauty here is endless. The town is right on the cusp of the immense and breathtaking Caribou-Targhee National Forest. The looming Teton Mountain Range, which is shared between Idaho and Wyoming, is also visible from the town.

The river, which the town is named after, flows straight through the small town and offers up relaxing tubing and rafting during the summer months. The river also contains brook trout, rainbow trout, cutthroat trout, and white fish, making it a hot spot for anglers.

Warm River is also located right beside the Mesa Falls Scenic Byway, which leads to the majestic Upper Mesa Falls, one of the most alluring waterfalls in all of Idaho. It’s a 114 feet tall waterfall located on the Henry’s Fork. Thousands of visitors visit the site every year just to get a glimpse of this epic sight.

Another nearby picturesque spot is Warm River Spring located just a stone’s throw away from Mesa Falls. The spring is a gorgeous creek, surrounded by lush foliage, which flows down the side of a mountain and into a canyon. This little corner of Idaho is full of unexpected treasures … it’s almost like a hidden slice of paradise!
