As you drive along scenic Highway 61 in northern Minnesota, what looks like a flea market emerges on a wooded shoreline where the Beaver River flows into Lake Superior. Rows and rows of tables are set out, filling the space between the highway and the unassuming building set back against the tree line. Upon closer inspection, you realize this is more than a flea market. It is, in fact, the venerable Second Hand Rose, which has been an institution in the village of Beaver Bay for decades. With its deep inventory of antiques and collectibles and its undeniably stunning location, how could you not feel compelled to pull over?
