In far northern Wisconsin, Lake Superior offers sweeping, dramatic views and a sea of recreational possibilities. A collection of special cabins are perched in the pines, providing the perfect basecamp for relaxation and a place to recharge in a fresh lake breeze. Wild Rice Retreat is a getaway spot like no other – here’s why you should plan a getaway to these cozy Wisconsin cabins.

Wild Rice Retreat is located near Bayfield, a town of just 500 that’s Wisconsin’s smallest city. It’s a former lumber town that today is a charming waterfront tourist community that’s known as the “Gateway the Apostle Islands.”

Cabins in Wisconsin October 27, 2022 Sarah M. What are the Apostle Islands known for? With Wild Rice Retreat as your home base, you can set off to explore one of Wisconsin’s most wild wonders: the Apostle Islands. Sea caves and untamed wilderness; this is the magic that awaits at the Apostle Island National Lakeshore, a place acclaimed for its kayaking and water-bound adventures. Yes, this is technically a lake adventure, but we think Lake Superior is, pardon the pun, superior for water recreation. There are 22 islands in the Apostles; sea kayaking is easily the best way to explore, as many of the caves and coastline formations can only be accessed from the water. In fact, the islands have become a world-renowned destination for paddlers. Though striking from afar, the opportunity to get up-close to these commanding monoliths is something that shouldn’t be passed up, so we highly recommend planning a kayaking adventure while you’re there!  What are some other cozy cabins in Wisconsin? If you’re planning a getaway in Wisconsin, you have a ton of options when it comes to accommodations. We’re partial, of course, to cabins. There’s something so rustic and extra cozy about Wisconsin cabins! We adore this eco-friendly cabin in Amherst, which is available through VRBO. The perfect combination of charming and kitschy, the cabin’s interior is adorned with things like canoes, snowshoes, and other rustic-inspired items. Spanning 1,500 square feet and boasting an open floor plan, it’s simultaneously cozy and roomy… emphasis on the “cozy” part! Looking for more cabins available to rent in Wisconsin? Hidden Bear Cabin is another charmer in Egg Harbor! A one-of-a-kind destination, the cabin boasts incredible craftsmanship, amazing amenities, and a secluded locale. Even better, it’s available for rent year-round, which means you can start planning your visit ASAP.
