Kentucky is a downright magical place to live, with our fairy tale waterfalls and enchanting caverns. The Bluegrass State is also home to a real-life castle, and it’s one of our most unique and dazzling attractions. The Kentucky Castle is a spectacular destination in and of itself; a place of pure fantasy and revelry in the idyllic hills of Versailles. This majestic property is wonderfully unusual and bucket-list worthy, and has a hotel, spa, and restaurant. This castle restaurant in Kentucky is easily the most unique dining experience in the Bluegrass State — a fairy tale fantasy come to life!
The Kentucky Castle is a majestic property that sits on a hill in Versailles, not far from Lexington and right in the heart of horse country. It’s so beautiful, it almost doesn’t look real.

But it is real, and not only can you stay overnight at this captivating castle, you can also dine like royalty at its on-site restaurant.

Don’t be deterred by the opulence of the dining room; this is rustic, farm-to-table (or should we say “farm-to-castle”) cuisine.

Produce and herbs are picked straight from the castle’s gardens, for the freshest, most vibrant fare.

In fact, the on-site garden provides the restaurant with up to 90 percent of the produce served to guests – and the dishes truly sing.

Castle Restaurant in Kentucky January 12, 2023 Sarah M. What’s another scenic place to dine in Kentucky? The Castle Restaurant is certainly one of the most spectacularly scenic places to dine in Kentucky, as it’s hard to top the views from the Bluegrass State’s very own kingdom! Another scenic restaurant in KY that’s actually not too far from the Castle Restaurant is Wallace Station, a secluded little restaurant that’s surrounded by the rolling hills of Kentucky’s incredible Horse Country. This darling little eatery is housed in a building that’s listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and was built around the turn of the 20th century. While rustic and unassuming, this restaurant is led by Ouita Michel, a highly respected, James Beard Award-nominated chef. The menu is comprised of humble classics like sandwiches and burgers that Chef Ouita takes to the next level with care and respect. The sandwiches are especially stellar, with the Country Ham and Pimiento Cheese sandwich a fresh take on a Kentucky classic. What are some other things to do at the Kentucky Castle? Built decades ago by a couple who admired the classic, gothic architecture of Old Europe; today, the Kentucky Castle is a boutique hotel, event space, restaurant, spa, and so much more. The inside of this royal destination is as beautiful as you’d imagine; The Castle’s accommodations are the height of luxury, with bespoke decor and high-end amenities fit for a king or queen. If you’ve ever dreamed of staying at The Kentucky Castle, but are more of a “commoner” who prefers a cozy cabin to, say, a Presidential suite, you’re in luck. Located on a picturesque Horse Country farm that’s a short walk to The Kentucky Castle, Fairview Cabin is an impossibly charming accommodation fit for royalty. This beautiful cabin is located in the heart of the Castle’s idyllic farm, just a short walk from the royal residence, and it’s a wonderfully quiet and scenic spot from which to experience this kingdom.
